for choosing this project was to help continue this program because I heard that no one raised money for it the previous semester. I first repeated the steps I had the previous year I raised money. I sent out letters to friends and family asking if they would be willing to donate to the program. I also set up a Facebook page to help promote the program. On the Facebook page, I posted a link to an online donation page. Finally, I used my photography skills to start another fundraiser and took family portraits for $25 per hour session. Critical and creative thinking, as well as the civic knowledge and engagement, will be addressed in this project. Critical and creative thinking was addressed because I had to think of different ways that I could raise all of the money that I needed to achieve my goal. Civic knowledge and engagement were addressed because this program focuses on reaching out to kids in the community from the two Title 1 school in Cedar City. I used my skills as a photographer and I developed better communication and marketing/advertising skills. It hasn’t really changed my opinion. It has just made me realize how important it is to continue this program. In raising all of this money and seeing the kids’ smiles I just wish to continue this program. I have seen the impact that SUU Honors You has on the kids and I believe that it is well worth the time that I spent raising the money to continue it. I think it will impact my future as an educator. It will push me to help kids pursue their education even farther and reach for their dreams. If I were to do it over, I would push myself to raise more money and talk with more companies to see if they are willing to donate to this wonderful program.
